Tariffs on Imports to the USA

Important Update: New U.S. Tariffs on Imported Automotive Parts

We wanted to ensure you’re fully informed about recent changes to U.S. import tariffs and how they may impact buying parts for your Nissan Figaro from The Figaro Shop. There are still changes to come and we have been working hard to digest the information released by the White House, but this is the story so far.

The U.S. administration has introduced new import tariffs that directly affect the automotive parts sector — and we’re taking steps to help you navigate this evolving situation.

What’s Changed & What is Changing?

  • Effective April 6, 2025, a 10% universal tariff has been applied to all goods imported into the U.S., including automotive parts from the UK.
  • In addition, a targeted 25% tariff on key automotive components — such as engines, transmissions, and electrical systems — is scheduled to take effect no later than May 3, 2025.

We are reading conflicting information around the de minimis rule for 10% tariff starting at $800. We know that for China this has been abolished, but whether orders under $800 that are manufactured in the UK and imported from the UK are exempt, we are still trying to get a definitive answer. Some news outlets stipulating that there is no value threshold and that the 10% tariff applies to all shipments, regardless of size or cost. Others are stating that the de minimus rule is only being scrapped for China. We will update you as soon as we have the absolute facts.

Clear Communication: No Surprises, Just Solutions

We’re committed to transparency and regular updates. You can expect:

  • Clear, upfront tariff cost breakdowns in all invoices

  • Proactive outreach if and when the 25% tariff hits and what parts will be impacted before May 3
