The Nissan Figaro is equipped with a turbocharged, 4 cylinder, fuel injected MA10ET engine mated to a 3 speed automatic gearbox with model specific gear ratios to suit the vehicles power output. This silky smooth gearbox was the perfect choice when new but over time, the gearbox can begin to leak due to age, wear and tear and aged seals. The front pump seal (also known as an input shaft seal) is the main seal that is located around the input shaft/front pump of the gearbox that supplies fluid to the transmission when the engine is running. Over time, this seal can perish causing a leak past the input shaft from within the bell housing of the transmission that can be seen leaking from the joint of the transmission to the engine itself.
